Wastewater Pathogens – Live Online (1/12/26)

Wastewater Pathogens online provides wastewater personnel with a guide to the pathogens that are found in wastewater, bioaerosols and bio-solids and how the pathogens are transferred (transmitted) to personnel. Groups of pathogens reviewed include: viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa and helminths. The class presents the locations where pathogens are most concentration in wastewater facilities and the fate of pathogens, i.e., removed, consumed by higher life forms, inactivated and destroyed. The class reviews disinfectants, indicator organisms and immunobiologicals. The class is accompanied by handouts that provide the following information: 1) glossary, 2) hygiene measures and practices, 3) personal protective equipment (PPE) and training and 4) additional information or references.
This is a live online course that requires each attendee to access Zoom on their own device* using their own Zoom account. The Zoom links and other information are included on the first page of this course.

*Attendees can use a computer, phone, or tablet. The device must have a speaker, and a webcam is recommended. Attendees must answer periodic poll questions and take quizzes to verify attendance and receive credit. Each attendee must answer these questions on their own device.
